We use a professional marine surveyer with 10 years of experience and accredited through the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors ( SAMS ). You will be provided with a written report testifying to the condition of your prospective vessel. Cost
The typical cost of a hull survey can range from $8 - $12/foot depending on the type of vessel, or we can give you a fixed price quote.
A Sea Trial is an integral part of the purchasing process, an opportunity for the purchaser to find out about the vessel. All systems of the vessel are performance tested. This not only involves the engines, but all major systems of the vessel such as electronics, hydraulics, engine, steering and structural elements. For sailboats, it is also necessary to check running rigging and sail shape to determine if it is tuned properly or the sail has been blow out. The sea trial should be done in sea conditions in which the vessel will normally operated. For sailboats, this means there should be a moderate amount of wind. |
